The cottages here at Postlip consist of two highly attractive 4 Star quality Cotswold stone cottages each with its own character and charm.
Muir Cottage was converted from an 18th century barn to a design inspired by the “Arts and Crafts Movement” that established itself in the Cotswolds in the 19th century resulting in an array of stone mullioned windows, leaded lights, exposed beams and period furnishings.
The Bothy is a conversion of a 17th century Cotswold stone stable and a 20th century kennel building. The Bothy retains all its original construction features, including its oak beamed ceilings and brick floors.
Both cottages are unique.
Postlip is beautifully situated in a hidden coombe on the leeward side of the Cotswolds highest hill, and yet only minutes from Winchcombe, a classic Cotswold “wool” town, renowed for its excellent shops, restaurants and architecture.
Postlip is ideal for walking holidays. The Cotswold Way is only metres away from the cottages whilst at Winchcombe other long distance walks converge such as the Gloucestershire Way, Windrush Way, Wardens Way and Winchcombe Way. Adjacent to Postlip is Cleeve Hill, the largest remaining area of unenclosed common land in the Cotswolds, and a designated area of open access.
